The IT Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, security, and continuous operation of the institution’s complete IT infrastructure. This role ensures robust networking, cybersecurity, academic IT lab readiness, UMS administration, vendor coordination, and compliance with CAA and regulatory requirements, while supporting internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure & Network Management
- Plan, implement, and manage end-to-end IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, systems, and institutional hardware
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of wired and wireless networks
- Establish and maintain IT standards, configurations, and operational procedures
Cybersecurity & Data Governance
- Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, controls, and best practices
- Ensure data protection, access control, system security, and incident response readiness
- Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity frameworks
Academic IT & Laboratory Management
- Plan, establish, and maintain IT laboratories in alignment with academic delivery and regulatory expectations
- Ensure hardware, software, and licensing requirements are fully met and documented
- Provide technical oversight for academic computing resources
UMS / Enterprise Systems Administration
- Manage and administer the University Management System (UMS) and related academic platforms
- Ensure system configuration, data integrity, and reporting align with academic processes and CAA requirements
- Coordinate system upgrades, integrations, and vendor support
Audit, Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare, maintain, and present IT documentation for internal audits, external audits, and inspections
- Ensure IT systems, processes, and records are compliant with CAA standards and institutional policies
- Support accreditation reviews by providing accurate and verifiable IT evidence
Vendor, Asset & Budget Management
- Identify, evaluate, and manage IT vendors and service providers
- Oversee procurement, contracts, renewals, and service-level agreements
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and lifecycle documentation
IT Services & Team Leadership
- Oversee IT support services for faculty, staff, and students
- Establish service delivery standards and escalation procedures
- Lead, supervise, and develop IT staff and support personnel
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant IT experience, including leadership or managerial responsibility
- Demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity
- Proven experience managing UMS / ERP systems in an academic or regulated environment
- Experience supporting CAA compliance, audits, and accreditation processes
