Job Purpose
The IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the hospital’s information technology systems to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operations. The role ensures that clinical and non-clinical teams have the necessary digital infrastructure to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and support hospital growth and accreditation requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement the hospital’s IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead and supervise the IT team, ensuring effective support across all departments.
- Provide expert advice to senior management on IT infrastructure, security, and digital transformation initiatives.
Systems and Infrastructure
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hospital information systems (HIS), EMR/EHR, PACS, LIS, and other clinical applications.
- Manage the hospital’s network, servers, databases, and data centers to ensure availability and reliability.
- Ensure integration of clinical and administrative systems for seamless workflow and data exchange.
Data Security and Compliance
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to safeguard patient data in line with HIPAA/GDPR and local health authority regulations.
- Ensure compliance with MOH/DoH/JCI accreditation standards regarding data protection, confidentiality, and IT policies.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Operations and Support
- Lead day-to-day IT operations, including user support, troubleshooting, and training.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of critical hospital systems, with timely resolution of incidents.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize efficiency.
Vendor and Project Management
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee IT projects including system upgrades, digital health initiatives, telemedicine platforms, and cloud migration.
- Control IT budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 – 12 years of IT experience, with at least 6 years in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Proven track record in managing HIS/EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of IT security, networking, cloud solutions, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing IT teams and leading cross-functional projects.
