About the Role:

The Washington State Auditor’s Office is seeking an IT Policy & Planning professional to support agency technology governance, risk management, and strategic planning.

This role works across IT and business teams to ensure technology policies are clear, compliant, and aligned with agency goals. You’ll translate statewide requirements into practical guidance, support audits and risk assessments, and help improve how the agency plans and manages technology.

About Our IT Team:

Information Services supports the agency’s audit, administrative, and operational work through governance, development, infrastructure, and support services. The team is organized into functional groups but works closely across those areas to deliver reliable and secure technology.

The team culture is built on accountability, collaboration, and a willingness to step in where needed. People are expected to take ownership of their work but also support each other, even when it falls outside their formal role. That cross-team mindset is a big part of how work gets done here.

We value a growth mindset. That includes giving and receiving feedback in a constructive way, learning new areas, and adapting as technology and business needs evolve. There’s also an expectation that staff stay engaged with the broader technology landscape and look for opportunities where the agency can lead or improve.

This role works closely with IT leadership and other teams, with visibility into how technology decisions are made and carried out across the agency.
