Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead the solution design and architecture blueprint for the CRMS Solution covering functional and technical domains (Credit Risk and Enterprise Risk where applicable).
  • Define end-to-end system architecture, including integration with Core Banking & LOS, Data Warehouse / Data Lake, Model Execution Engine (PD-LGD-EAD models), Collateral, Limits, and Exposure Systems, Reporting & Analytics layer and down-stream systems used for IFRS9 ECL , Capital computations, etc.
  • Develop the Solution Design Document (SDD) outlining logical, application, and data architecture for the CRMS implementation.

Functional Design Alignment

  • Translate business requirements (BRD/FSD) into system functionalities and process flows ensuring all credit lifecycle components are captured Credit origination and assessment, Rating models and scorecards integration, Approval workflow and delegation of authority, Collateral, covenant, and limit monitoring, Exception management, SICR, and Unlikely-to-Pay triggers, and Portfolio risk consolidation and MIS dashboards.
  • Work with business and vendor teams to validate functional design, ensuring consistency between user stories, configuration, and technical feasibility.

Data Architecture & Integration

  • Define data model and mapping for credit exposure, counterparty, and risk parameters aligned with bank’s data governance framework.
  • Specify data lineage, transformation logic, and quality validation rules for all inbound and outbound data flows.
  • Work with the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and Data Governance teams to ensure data consistency across systems (CRMS, DWH, IFRS9, etc.).

Regulatory & Risk Compliance

  • Ensure design compliance with CBUAE Credit Risk Management Standards (CRMS), Basel III/IV and IFRS9 data and model reporting requirements, Internal Model Risk Management (MRM) frameworks, and Audit trail, control, and segregation-of-duty requirements
  • Support preparation of design documentation for regulatory review, internal audit, and external audit.

Technical Validation & Vendor Coordination

  • Review and validate vendor-proposed solution architecture.
  • Conduct design walkthroughs, integration testing strategy, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Define non-functional requirements (NFRs) — including performance, scalability, security, and DR/HA architecture.
  • Coordinate with IT Security, Infrastructure, and DevOps for environment setup and cloud/on-prem design validation.

Design Governance & Documentation

  • Own and maintain the Solution Design Document (SDD), Interface Control Document (ICD), Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), Integration & Environment Architecture, Traceability Matrix (linking requirements to design components).
  • Support design governance reviews and present architecture to internal Architecture Review Board (ARB) for approval.

Skills & Experience Required

Technical & Functional Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Credit and Enterprise Risk Management processes, exposure management, and RWA/ECL calculation principles.
  • Proven experience designing or implementing credit risk systems (Moody’s RiskFoundation (IFRS9), Moody’s CreditLens, ETL, etc.).
  • Strong data architecture and ETL/integration design knowledge
  • Understanding of risk data aggregation and reporting (BCBS 239) principles.
  • Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines, data lineage tools, and microservices integration is an advantage.

Qualifications & Soft Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance with Banking Experience.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in banking technology, risk system design, or enterprise architecture.
  • Experience in end-to-end design of credit risk or enterprise risk platforms.
  • Professional certifications preferred: TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or PMP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business, IT, and vendor domains.
