About the Role

Gansevoort Hotel Group is seeking a motivated and service-oriented IT Specialist to support the daily technology operations of our property in the Meatpacking District. This role is ideal for an IT professional with 2–3 years of experience who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, supporting hotel team members, and ensuring technology systems run smoothly in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

The IT Specialist will work closely with the IT Manager to maintain network connectivity, provide technical support to hotel staff, and assist with the management of hardware, software, and IT systems across the property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for hotel staff including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with network setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure stable connectivity across the property.
  • Support guest-facing technology, including Wi-Fi and in-room technology systems.
  • Set up new employee workstations, user accounts, and system access.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of IT assets and equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting network equipment, phone systems, and audio/visual technology.
  • Monitor system performance and escalate technical issues when necessary.
  • Support hotel operational systems and applications.
  • Provide IT and AV support for meetings, events, and guest needs when required.
  • Assist with system updates, security patches, and general maintenance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers when directed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years of IT support experience, preferably in hospitality, retail, or service environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and common office applications.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, wired networks).
  • Experience supporting desktop hardware, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory user management and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hospitality technology systems is a plus (Opera, SynXis, Vingcard, Aloha, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule Requirements

This position may require flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational and system support needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the property to provide technical support.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and install equipment as needed.

Compensation

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 annually

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
