Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and support for our clients' technology needs. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a customer-oriented attitude, and the ability to resolve technical issues promptly. As an IT Support Specialist at Onetech, you’ll be responsible for managing user support requests, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and resolve IT-related issues, including hardware, software, network, and peripheral equipment.
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including computers, printers, and networking devices at client premises.
- Assist clients via phone, email, and remote access, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Carry out structured cabling work, including installation and management of Ethernet cables, patch panels, and switches.
- Troubleshoot system errors, perform diagnostics, and ensure swift resolutions for any technical issues.
- Set up and configure network devices such as routers, firewalls, and wireless access points at client sites
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure all systems are running efficiently.
- Support IT security initiatives, monitoring systems, and performing regular updates and maintenance.
- Assist with security updates, backups, and data recovery at client locations
- Document technical procedures and configurations for each client engagement
- Provide training and guidance to client staff on basic troubleshooting and system usage
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support, including field-based work and cabling
- Strong understanding of Windows and Mac operating systems, and IT management tools
- Hands-on experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic network configuration
- Experience in structured cabling, network installation, and cable management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage
