IT SUPPORT ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support to ensure smooth operation of IT systems and end-user devices. The role focuses on troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, and supporting IT infrastructure. The engineer will play a key role in ensuring system availability, user productivity, and adherence to IT service management practices.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for end users
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and Mac systems
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and policies using Active Directory (AD)
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Handle incidents and service requests using ITSM tools
  • Ensure timely resolution in line with SLAs
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities
  • Configure and troubleshoot printers, peripherals, and network devices
  • Maintain documentation of issues, solutions, and system configurations
  • Coordinate with vendors and higher-level support teams when required

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Experience with Active Directory (AD) and user management
  • Good understanding of ITSM processes (ITIL)
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

POTENTIAL BACKGROUND

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT Support / Desktop Support
  • Experience in on-site support and user-facing roles
  • Exposure to enterprise IT environments
  • Experience handling SLA-driven support environments

CERTIFICATIONS (MANDATORY/PREFERRED)

  • CompTIA A+ – Preferred
  • Microsoft MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator) – Preferred
  • ITIL v4 Foundation – Preferred

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

  • Arabic or Non-Arabic Speaker
