IT Support Technician

Bright Wood is seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Technician who thrives on solving problems, supporting end users, and working hands-on with technology in a fast‑paced environment. This role supports users across multiple locations in Central Oregon and requires comfort working in both office and industrial settings. Position Summary

The IT Help Desk Technician provides frontline technical support for computer systems, mobile devices, printers, and software applications Experienced IT Help Desk Technician

across multiple company locations. This is a hands-on, field-focused role, requiring strong troubleshooting skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for end users across multiple sites
  • Respond to, log, and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware, printers, handheld scanners, mobile devices, and related peripherals
  • Perform printer maintenance, setup, deployment, and routine servicing
  • Install, configure, and deploy computers, printers, and mobile devices
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network-related issues, escalating when necessary
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support as needed
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all levels
  • Travel between company locations when needed: Madras, Culver, Prineville, Redmond
  • Work safely and effectively in industrial environments (noise, dust, production areas)
  • After 90 days, participate in an after-hours on-call rotation (typically one week per month; overtime applies)

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Lunch: 1-hour unpaid lunch
  • On-Call Rotation: Approximately one week per month after 90 days
  • Environment:
  • Mix of industrial and office settings
  • Approximately 70% field work, 30% office/desk work
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and production areas may occur
  • Occasional scheduled weekend work with advance notice

Dress Code & Safety Requirements

  • No obscene graphic t-shirts
  • No ripped or baggy clothing
  • No shorts or open-toed shoes
  • Required PPE must be worn when in the field, including high-visibility vest and other provided protective gear (company provided)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license (travel between multiple sites required)
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs. as needed)
  • Smartphone required for job duties (company reimbursement available)

Technical Experience

  • Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 11)
  • Microsoft O365 / Office O365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Printer support (laser printers, MFPs; label printers preferred)
  • Hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, peripherals)
  • Helpdesk ticketing systems and IT service management practices
  • Mobile device support (iOS / Android) and handheld scanner devices
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, connectivity troubleshooting)
  • Device deployment, replacement, and setup workflows

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems
  • Bi-lingual Spanish / English is a plus

Compensation

$24–$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Overtime applies during on-call rotation or approved additional hours.
