IT Trainer

Position Summary

The IT Trainer will provide technology training and knowledge transfer services to City of Danville staff to ensure effective adoption and use of IT systems, applications, and technology processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs for IT systems, applications, and technology tools used by city departments.
• Provide knowledge transfer sessions for newly implemented IT systems and technology initiatives.
• Create training materials, user guides, and instructional documentation for city employees.
• Conduct in-person or virtual training sessions depending on project requirements.
• Assess staff training needs and design custom training programs aligned with IT initiatives.
• Assist IT teams in preparing training plans for system rollouts and upgrades.
• Provide post-training support and user assistance to ensure successful technology adoption.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate training and change management activities into IT projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience delivering IT training or technical instruction.
• Experience creating training documentation, user manuals, and instructional materials.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Experience supporting technology implementations or system rollouts preferred.
• Familiarity with enterprise systems, productivity tools, and municipal IT environments is advantageous.
