IT Vendor Manager – Des Moines, IA (Hybrid)

The client is seeking an experienced IT Vendor Manager to oversee vendor relationships, contract compliance, and performance management for the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). This role supports IT sourcing, risk management, and vendor governance across software, hardware, cloud, and IT service providers.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT vendor relationships and serve as escalation point for issues.

• Oversee SOWs, SLAs, KPIs, renewals, and contractual compliance.

• Partner with procurement and legal on contract terms and negotiations.

• Track vendor spend, budgets, and risk metrics (cybersecurity, data privacy, continuity).

• Log and track issues, change requests, and resolutions.

• Coordinate vendor meetings, demos, onboarding, and communications.

• Support audits, market research, and strategic vendor portfolio planning.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree + 2+ years of relevant experience.

• 3+ years managing IT vendors (software, hardware, cloud, consulting).

• Experience monitoring SLAs/KPIs and driving corrective actions.

• Knowledge of IT procurement, cybersecurity, data privacy, and accessibility standards.

• Ability to benchmark pricing and evaluate vendor performance.

• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
