IVVQ Engineer

Location: Cairo

Our Opportunity

We are looking an IVVQ Engineer to join the team to support Through-Life Support contracts with the Navy. In the role of the IVVQ Engineer, you will work on tasks on-board new or refitted ships contracted to Thales. You will provide assistance to subcontractors and our customers through performing/overseeing engineering and technical support and ILM training, preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections and securing a high level of performance of TNL equipment. The role may involve working at overseas location(s) in support of the Customer deployment team.

Day to day you will:

  • Work on new equipment on board new or refitted ships.

  • Attend training sessions in and outside Egypt for our customer’s operators and maintainers.

  • Perform Preventive & Corrective Maintenance.

  • Prepare and follow up various inspections.

  • Oversee the tasks performed by the maintenance staff.

  • Monitor that corrects services and repair procedures are implemented and advice as necessary

  • Utilise technical publications and embedded training to develop on-the-job-training procedures

  • Support the development of the operational capabilities

  • Provide Technical support to our customer.

  • Provide support on site deployment/installation

  • Oversee supply chain activities to maintain KPIs within limits

  • Report to Project Manager & DSC Manager

  • Perform other related duties as required.

About you

You will have excellent personal organisational skills and an ability to remain focused under pressure. Effective stakeholder management abilities are crucial, ensuring you build strong working relationships with other teams across business lines to achieve best results. Alongside this, the following skills and competencies are key to success within this role:

  • Experience in Linux operating systems

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and follow written procedures and instructions

  • Prior experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer and Electronics Engineering or bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications/Electronics

  • Experience in Radar or Radio Technology activities.

  • Write and authorise the execution of Test Specifications.

  • Accurately report work progress and estimates to complete against work packages.

  • Investigate problems in the field or with the systems IVVQ documentation.

  • Develop, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems IVVQ Engineering function. Lead in the assessment of relevant tools.

  • Lead the production of System IVVQ Engineering estimates at optimum cost.

  • Produce quality metrics to measure the soundness of the System IVVQ Engineering processes under your control.

  • Working with project planners to provide detailed input to specific project programs.

  • Represent System IVVQ Engineering at formal Design Reviews, with particular attention to the reduction of design risks.

  • Lead IVVQ Cost Reviews as part of a Bid team.
