Duties

• Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and explain daily specials with enthusiasm.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, including handling wine service, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks with professionalism.
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales through effective suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
• Process cash transactions accurately while managing credit card payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other restaurant software.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders, assist with food handling and preparation when needed, and support overall restaurant operations.

Skills

• Proven experience in food service, fine dining, or hospitality environments with a focus on Japanese cuisine preferred.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast POS or Micros POS; familiarity with Resy is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and handle diverse needs efficiently.
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours without compromising quality.
• Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service to assist guests in making informed choices.
• Experience in food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures essential for maintaining high-quality service standards.
