The JIT Coordinator is responsible for managing the
Just-in-Time
inventory and materials delivery process within the SMT & DIP Department. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available exactly when needed to support efficient production operations. The JIT Coordinator works closely with the SMT Line Leader and other departments to maintain smooth production flows and minimize waste.
Responsibilities
1.
Inventory Management

Monitor and manage inventory levels of components and materials used in the SMT & DIP processes.

Ensure that materials are available just in time for production to minimize storage costs and reduce waste.

Implement and maintain JIT inventory management systems and processes.

Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and accuracy.
2.
Supplier Coordination
-
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries based on production needs and schedules.

Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery times, quality, or quantities.

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable conditions for the company.
3.
Production Coordination

Work closely with the SMT Line Leader and production planning team to understand production schedules and material requirements.

Ensure that materials are delivered to the production line in the right quantities and at the right times.

Monitor production flows to anticipate and resolve any potential material shortages.

Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that delivered materials meet quality standards.
4.
Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Generate and maintain reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and production efficiency.

Use data to make informed decisions about inventory management and supplier relationships.

Report on JIT performance metrics to the SMT & DIP Workshop Manager and other stakeholders.
5.
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve JIT processes and reduce material waste.

Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.

Monitor the impact of process changes and adjust strategies as necessary.
6.
Documentation and Compliance

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, supplier agreements, and material deliveries.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to inventory management.

Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for JIT processes.

Ensure documentation is available and accessible for audits and inspections.
Educational Background
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) are advantageous.
Professional Experience
-
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain management, or logistics.

Experience in the microelectronics industry and SMT & DIP processes is highly preferred.

Proven track record of managing JIT processes and improving inventory efficiency.
