Operations Manager – FMCG (Native Sinhala speaker)

Job Purpose

The Operations Manager will oversee end-to-end operations in the FMCG sector, ensuring efficient supply chain management, production planning, distribution, and process optimization. The role requires a dynamic professional with strong leadership skills, cultural adaptability, and deep understanding of the FMCG market to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations including procurement, inventory, warehousing, production, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee logistics, supply chain, and vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and product quality.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align operations with business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal, health, and safety standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and train operational staff to build strong team performance.
  • Drive automation and digitalization of processes to optimize productivity.
  • Prepare operational reports and present insights to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in operations within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record in managing supply chain, warehousing, and distribution networks.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Native Sinhala speaker with strong communication skills in Sinhala and English.
