Position Summary
The Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, customizing, and supporting Odoo modules related to Finance (Accounting), Human Resources, and Purchase. This role bridges functional business requirements and technical system capabilities, ensuring smooth operation, optimization, and integration of Odoo across departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Odoo Functional Responsibilities
Finance (Accounting)
Configure and maintain Odoo Accounting modules (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, cost centers, budgeting).
Set up chart of accounts, fiscal years, taxes, journals, and financial reporting.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Streamline accounting workflows and automate financial processes.
Human Resources
Configure and manage HR modules such as Recruitment, Employee Management, Payroll, Attendance, Leave Management, Appraisals, and Timesheets.
Customize HR workflows as per company policies.
Work with HR team to ensure legal compliance and correct payroll calculations.
Maintain integrations between HR, Finance, and Payroll modules.
Purchase (Procurement & Inventory)
Implement and optimize the Purchase module: vendor management, RFQs, purchase orders, approvals, GRNs.
Integrate Purchase with Inventory and Accounting for seamless P2P operations.
Set procurement rules, reorder levels, and workflow approvals.
Help enhance vendor performance and procurement automation.
2. Odoo Technical Responsibilities
Customize Odoo modules using Python, XML, views, models, and workflows.
Develop new Odoo features, reports, and automation as per business needs.
Create scripts for data migration, imports, and exports.
Integrate Odoo with external systems through APIs and connectors.
Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions with development teams.
Perform system upgrades, patches, and module installations.
3. Business Analysis & Process Improvement
Gather and analyze business requirements across HR, Finance, and Purchase.
Document business processes and map them to Odoo features.
Propose system-based solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Conduct gap analysis and recommend functional/technical enhancements.
4. Testing, Training & Support
Conduct UAT, SIT, and end-to-end testing for newly developed features.
Prepare user documentation, SOPs, training materials, and manuals.
Provide training and ongoing functional/technical support to end-users.
Respond to system issues, troubleshoot errors, and ensure timely resolution.
5. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure HR, Procurement, and Finance processes comply with company policies and regional regulations.
Develop dynamic reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Odoo reporting tools.
Support management with real-time analytics and decision-making insights.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
Odoo certifications are an advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Odoo Framework (Python, XML, PostgreSQL).
Experience with Odoo v13–v17 (or latest version used by company).
Hands-on experience in module development, customization, API integration.
Strong SQL and debugging skills.
Good understanding of Linux/Ubuntu server environment.
Functional Skills
Strong knowledge of Finance/Accounting processes.
Solid HR domain knowledge including payroll, attendance, and employee lifecycle.
Strong understanding of procurement and P2P cycle.
Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
Experience
3–7+ years experience as an Odoo Consultant / Odoo Analyst / Odoo Developer.
At least 2 full-cycle Odoo implementations in HR, Finance, or Purchase.
Experience in Odoo customization and module development.
