Journeyman Electrician

Langer Electric is hiring a journeyman electrician for residential, commercial, and multi-family work throughout Los Angeles. We do a lot of service, troubleshooting, remodels, lighting, dedicated circuits, panel work, EV chargers, and general electrical repairs. We are looking for someone solid in the field who can think independently, work efficiently, communicate well, and represent the company professionally with customers.

What this job is

This is a field position for an electrician who can handle real-world work without needing constant supervision. You should be able to troubleshoot, diagnose problems, complete clean code-compliant work, and keep jobs moving. Strong residential experience is important. Service experience is especially important. Commercial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential, commercial, and multi-family electrical work
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues
• Install, maintain, repair, and replace electrical wiring, devices, fixtures, equipment, and panels
• Handle service calls, remodel work, lighting, dedicated circuits, panel work, and general repairs
• Read plans, layouts, and diagrams when needed
• Use meters and test equipment confidently
• Identify code issues, safety hazards, and needed corrections
• Communicate clearly with customers, office staff, and other field personnel
• Keep jobs organized, clean, and moving
• Train or direct helpers and apprentices when needed
• Write clear, accurate job notes at the end of each visit
• Document what was found, what was done, and the final result
• Document troubleshooting steps and findings clearly enough for the office to invoice properly without having to chase you down
• Take job photos when needed
• Flag additional issues, change orders, safety concerns, or recommended repairs

Requirements

• Journeyman-level electrical experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong residential experience
• Service experience required
• Commercial experience preferred
• Rough-in experience is a plus
• Good working knowledge of NEC and standard installation practices
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
• Professional communication with customers
• Good English communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and accountable
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Basic tools required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
