Jr. Architectural Draftsman – Interior Fit-Out & Construction

We are seeking a Junior Architectural Draftsman to support the delivery of interior fit-out, high-end retail, and residential construction projects. The role focuses on translating approved design concepts into clear, accurate, and buildable drawings suitable for site execution and coordination.

This position is execution-focused, ideal for a candidate with hands-on exposure to interior fit-out or construction projects, who understands materials, detailing, and on-site realities. The role supports senior designers and technical managers in producing drawings related to layouts, finishes, joinery, and construction detailing, with growing exposure to luxury materials and high-quality execution standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interior & Architectural Drafting

• Prepare architectural and interior fit-out drawings including layouts, elevations, sections, and reflected ceiling plans.
• Assist in producing interior shop drawings for floors, walls, ceilings, joinery, furniture, and custom-built elements.
• Develop basic construction and detailing drawings under senior supervision.
• Update drawings based on design revisions, site conditions, and coordination feedback.

Materials & Finish Detailing (Junior Level)

• Assist in detailing interior finishes such as flooring, wall cladding, ceilings, and joinery components.
• Support preparation of material layouts, basic cutting plans, and fixing details.
• Coordinate finish drawings with approved material schedules and design intent.
• Gain exposure to high-end materials such as stone, marble, metal finishes, and bespoke joinery.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate drawings with structural, MEP, and interior fit-out trades to avoid clashes.
• Support senior draftsmen in resolving discrepancies between drawings, BOQs, and site conditions.
• Assist in reviewing design intent drawings, specifications, and RFIs for technical accuracy.

Site & Execution Support

• Participate in site visits to verify dimensions and existing conditions.
• Assist site engineers and supervisors by issuing updated drawings and clarifications.
• Support execution teams by revising drawings based on site feedback while maintaining design intent.

Documentation & Drawing Control

• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and organized project documentation.
• Ensure drawings follow company CAD standards, layering systems, and formatting guidelines.
• Support internal QA/QC checks for drawing accuracy and completeness.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the interior fit-out and/or construction industry (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience producing architectural or interior drawings for executed projects.
• Exposure to retail, residential, or commercial interior projects is preferred.
• Experience working within fit-out contractors or design-build environments is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SketchUp / Revit / 3D tools is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, and MEP drawings.
• Understanding of interior construction methods, finishes, and installation sequencing.
• Proficient in MS Office for documentation and reporting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From QAR3,000.00 per month
