Jr Editorial Designer

Our client, a large publishing company for magazines and editorials,  is seeking a Junior Editorial Designer to their team. This candidate will work closely with the Art Director, Creative Director, and editorial staff to design feature layouts and editorial pages. In addition to magazine work, this role will contribute to design projects for other company publications, advertorials, and occasional event related collateral, collaborating with a team of designers across the organization.

This is an onsite role (4 days/week) in Manhattan, NYC, starting as freelance and eventually converting to full-time placement.

Responsibilities:
- Design feature layouts and editorial pages for magazine
- Contribute to design work across other magazines and advertorials
- Assist with event collateral graphics as needed
- Collaborate with the Art Director, Creative Director, editorial staff, and design team

Must haves:
- 2-3 years of editorial design experience
- Strong graphic sense with a focus on typography, color, and layout
- Advanced InDesign skills (required); Photoshop and Illustrator experience preferred

Nice to haves:
- Marketing & Advertising experience is a plus
- Bachelors degree in Design or related field preferred

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
