Responsibilities/Duties
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for new and existing operational staff as per scheduled training plans.
- Train operational staff across all levels, including managerial and mid-level employees, ensuring alignment with organizational procedures and safety standards.
- Supervise and mentor training cohorts, manage schedules, monitor progress, and ensure successful completion of training objectives.
Training Content Development
- Design and develop structured training modules and materials, grounded in instructional and adult learning principles.
- Ensure the use of approved and updated training resources stored in the document management system, including lesson plans and presentations.
- Prepare individualized training profiles based on performance observations and assessments.
Performance Evaluation & Competency Assessment
- Evaluate trainees' knowledge, skills, and overall proficiency to determine training outcomes and readiness for operational deployment.
- Conduct periodic competency assessments of operational staff as part of the Competency Management System (CMS).
- Identify gaps in knowledge or performance and initiate appropriate corrective actions, including training needs analysis and refresher programs.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, progress, and outcomes within the document management system (e.g., Safe Tracker, Qlik Sense).
- Generate detailed reports and visual dashboards to track and communicate training performance metrics.
- Ensure documentation and record-keeping meet internal and external compliance standards.
Safety, Compliance & Staff Development
- Promote a strong safety culture by exemplifying and enforcing adherence to railway safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Conduct counseling sessions and disseminate updated safety procedures and operational guidelines to all staff.
- Monitor and verify the health and safety compliance of all trainees, ensuring they are physically fit and properly equipped for training activities.
- Carry out additional training-related duties and support initiatives as directed by the Operations Training Manager.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering).
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Experience:
- 0–3 years of experience in a railway operations or technical training environment is preferred.
