Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (in Busy or equivalent software).
- Record all income, expenses, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank statements, and track petty cash.
- Manage vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and invoicing for memberships and sales.
2. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
- Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors and consultants.
- Maintain and organize financial documentation for compliance purposes.
3. Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Track and report variances between budgeted and actual expenditures.
- Provide insights to management for cost efficiency and financial planning.
4. Coordination & Support
- Work closely with library and bookstore teams to support event finances, membership payments, and book purchases.
- Communicate with vendors, publishers, and suppliers for timely payments and reconciliations.
- Support management with ad hoc reports and financial summaries.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years as an Intern/assistant/accountant in a chartered accountant's office.
- Proficiency in BUSY ERP, MS Excel, and digital accounting tools.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
