Job Description

Position Title: Junior Accountant

Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager
Location: Business Bay, Dubai, UAE
Salary: AED 3,500 per month

Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department in managing daily bookkeeping activities, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE regulations. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Petty Cash Custodian, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist company departments with requirements related to agents’ commission calculations and verifications
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
• Support Corporate Tax and VAT documentation and filing in compliance with UAE regulations
• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and documentation
• Assist during internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience (UAE experience is an advantage)
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar)
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
