JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Role Overview:

A Junior Accountant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily accounting operations, and helping prepare financial reports. The role is often entry‑to‑mid level but useful for candidates with some accounting experience.

Core Responsibilities

A typical Junior Accountant in Bahrain is responsible for:

  • Assisting in day‑to‑day accounting operations such as posting transactions and updating records.
  • Accounts payable and receivable processing — invoices, vendor payments, receipts.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Bank reconciliations and account balancing.
  • Supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes and financial reporting.
  • Assisting with VAT/GST compliance and filing (if applicable) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Helping prepare financial statements, reports, and schedules for management.
  • Collaborating with the finance team on audits and special accounting projects.

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (some roles accept fresh graduates/training).
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and common accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, ERP).
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and good communication.
  • Must be locally available in Bahrain and ideally able to join immediately.
  • Experience with payroll processing and VAT processes is a plus.
