Junior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support the finance department. The role primarily involves assisting the Senior Accountant / Finance Manager in daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

Reporting To

Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Accountant / Finance Manager in day-to-day accounting and finance operations
• Perform data entry and bookkeeping in the accounting system with high accuracy
• Prepare and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) as per company procedures
• Maintain proper filing and organization of financial documents
• Assist in the preparation of invoices, payments, and employee expense claims
• Handle accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts
• Assist in VAT return preparation and filing
• Assist in WPS files and monthly payroll / pay slips
• Perform petty cash reconciliation and ensure proper supporting documentation
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and VAT regulations
• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers for financial documentation and clarifications

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Experience in VAT return preparation is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Tally, ERP systems (Odoo is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Strong documentation, filing, and record-keeping skills
