JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant at Lux Bond & Green is responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including maintaining general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with audits. This role ensures accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Process customer payments and assemble deposits
- Review daily retail batch activity
- Manage tax exempt customer data
- Review open customer orders including layaway and deposit activity
- Review and process employee reimbursement requests
- Reconcile vendor statements and file paid invoices
- Assist with all aspects of web order fulfillment including shipping
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Support internal and external audits
- Analyze financial data and report discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Other projects as requested by supervisor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (especially GAAP)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, QuickBooks)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems preferred
