Junior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our construction site team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day site office accounting operations, maintaining accurate cost records, and ensuring smooth coordination with the main office finance department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently at the site level.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Accounting & Cost Control:

• Record daily site expenditures, supplier payments, and petty cash transactions.
• Monitor material delivery and labor-related costs on-site.
• Collect, verify, and file vendor invoices, delivery notes, and work completion records.
• Maintain accurate records of subcontractor payments and labor attendance sheets.
• Prepare and send regular cost reports and cash flow updates to the main office.
• Coordinate with the procurement and site engineer teams for verification of goods/services.

Communication & Reporting:

• Prepare weekly and monthly expense reports for submission to the head office.
• Provide accurate documentation and cost data to assist with project budgeting and forecasting.
• Communicate with the main office regarding fund requests, supplier payments, and invoice approvals.
• Participate in regular audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Administrative Support:

• Manage site office documentation including receipts, vouchers, and invoice filing.
• Support in maintaining updated registers for materials, assets, and equipment usage.
• Assist with staff attendance records and timesheets as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting, preferably at a construction or project site.
• Basic understanding of cost tracking and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle tasks with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu is a plus).
