Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized Junior Accountant & Bookkeeper to help manage and strengthen the accounting operations of a growing company in the hospitality and property management space.
This role goes beyond basic transaction entry. In addition to keeping accurate books across multiple clients and accounts, the person in this position will be expected to assess our existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and help us build a cleaner, more scalable accounting workflow.
Our environment includes trust-style fund tracking, multi-client bookkeeping, and a relatively complex operating structure. Success in this role requires strong organization, sound judgment, adaptability, and comfort working within systems that are still evolving.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, categorize, and maintain financial transactions accurately
- Keep books organized and up to date within accounting software
- Monitor and reconcile client-specific balances across different fund categories
- Track billable client expenses and outstanding reimbursements
- Complete month-end reconciliations for bank accounts and ledger balances
- Assist with internal financial reporting and operational tracking
- Review current bookkeeping processes and suggest improvements
- Support the rollout of better systems and workflows over time
Qualifications
- Prior bookkeeping experience with small businesses, agencies, or service-based companies
- Solid understanding of multi-client, segmented, or fund-based bookkeeping environments
- Practical experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, or similar platforms
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
- Ability to manage time well, work independently, and handle changing processes
- Professional communication and dependable follow-through
Preferred Background
- Experience in property management, hospitality, or related service industries
- Familiarity with PMS tools such as Guesty, Hostaway, Lodgify, or similar platforms
- Exposure to trust accounting, client fund tracking, or similar structures
- Background in real estate, construction, or project-based businesses
