Junior AR Accountant (Remotely)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to join our finance team remotely. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and software proficiency to support our organization's financial operations. The Junior AR Accountant will assist in managing accounts receivable processes, reconciling financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of GAAP, financial concepts, and possess excellent analytical skills to contribute effectively to our financial management team.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis
• Prepare and review journal entries related to receivables and other financial activities
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures in accordance with GAAP standards
• Conduct cash flow analysis and assist with forecasting activities
• Support accounts payable processes and assist with payroll-related accounting tasks as needed
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department, including automation of routine tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Prior experience or internship in financial or governmental accounting is advantageous
• Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits
• Experience with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and general ledger reconciliation
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform financial analysis and cash flow forecasting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities remotely
• Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments
