Junior Associate Attorney - Personal Injury

We are seeking a licensed California attorney who is highly coachable, an excellent writer, and genuinely tech-forward. Prior personal injury experience is not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.

This role is ideal for an attorney who wants hands-on litigation experience, courtroom exposure, and mentorship while learning how to practice law efficiently using modern legal software and AI tools.

Position Overview

The Junior Associate will support litigation and case resolution across a variety of personal injury matters, with increasing responsibility over time. You will work closely with the managing attorney and litigation team and gain experience across all phases of a personal injury case.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Discovery

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and discovery responses
  • Review opposing party discovery responses
  • Prepare subpoenas and objections
  • Draft deposition objections and address deposition issues
  • Draft and respond to DME responses and objections
  • Prepare meet & confer correspondence
  • Draft motions to compel
  • Prepare applications for service by publication
  • Handle default judgment paperwork and procedures

Case Management & Medical Review

  • Follow up on and obtain medical records
  • Review and summarize medical records
  • Retrieve and review loss-of-earnings documentation (W-2s, tax returns, etc.)
  • Handle ongoing case-related correspondence, including OPC email replies

Court & Resolution Work

  • Draft CMC statements, TSC/OSC declarations, and related filings
  • Appear in court for routine appearances
  • Take and defend depositions under supervision
  • Handle case resolutions under supervision
  • Assist as second chair at trials
  • Prepare minor’s compromise paperwork

Required Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license (required)
  • Strong legal writing skills with attention to clarity, structure, and detail
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using modern legal software
  • Experience or strong interest in using AI tools to improve efficiency, including drafting, summarization, and workflow optimization
  • Highly coachable with a strong growth mindset
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
