Position: Junior Design Engineer

Location: Pune

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for surface and powder coating equipment and plant systems using SolidWorks.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to create efficient layouts and designs for powder coating lines, spray booths, curing ovens, conveyors, and other related equipment.

• Develop design solutions that ensure efficient coating processes, product quality, and optimal system performance.

• Conduct basic engineering analysis, such as thermal, flow, and mechanical simulations, to support the design and operation of coating equipment.

• Modify existing designs to improve performance, reduce costs, or address technical challenges.

• Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for all design phases, including CAD models, bill of materials (BOM), and engineering drawings.

• Coordinate with the manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure designs meet production standards and are manufacturable.

• Support the testing and prototyping phases by assisting with the development of functional prototypes and conducting performance evaluations.

• Participate in design review meetings, contributing ideas for improvements and identifying potential issues.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including safety regulations, and environmental considerations relevant to coating processes

Work on integrating automation, robotic systems, or material handling equipment as part of the overall coating line designs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: 2 – 4 years of hands-on experience in SolidWorks 3D design for industrial equipment, preferably in surface coating systems or similar industries.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks with experience in creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes, particularly related to surface and powder coating technology.

• Knowledge of the design principles related to surface coating machinery, ovens, booths, conveyors, or related systems.

• Ability to develop and modify designs that meet both technical and manufacturing requirements.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

• Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and precision in design work.
