The Role:
In this role, you will play a foundational part within the Finance Department, providing essential data support and conducting preliminary commercial analysis that strengthens project profitability and revenue accuracy. You will work hands-on with data tools and apply your technical skills (SQL, Power BI, Python) to real financial challenges, while gaining exposure to the commercial dynamics of a project-focused R&D environment. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams and contribute directly to data-driven decision-making and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence Implementation & Reporting (Primary Focus)
  • Data Acquisition & Modeling:
Under the direction of the CFO, use SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) to connect to disparate projects and finance data sources. Focus on extracting, cleaning, and structuring this data to support robust financial reporting.
  • Dynamic Dashboard Creation:
Design and develop standardized, interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI for monthly/weekly Project Profitability, Budget vs. Actual (BvA) variance analysis, and key cost tracking across the 5 entities.
  • Report Automation Support:
Utilize Excel and foundational Python skills (Pandas, NumPy) to automate basic data preparation tasks, such as merging source files, cleaning inconsistencies, and validating input before it enters the BI ecosystem.
  • Data Integrity:
Assist the Controller and Accountants by validating and reconciling transactional data (AP, Payroll) to ensure data accuracy before visualization.

Commercial & Project Support
  • Profitability Monitoring:
Daily monitoring of live project metrics. Use established BI dashboards to track actual costs/revenues against budgeted targets, flagging immediate variances to the management team.
  • Revenue Assurance (RA) Support:
Assist in data-driven checks for Contract-to-Pricing adherence. Run pre-defined SQL scripts to identify patterns suggestive of "wrong charging exercises" or billing discrepancies for review by the Controller.
  • Bidding Data Preparation:
Provide the bidding team with organized historical project cost and expert pricing data (extracted via SQL/Excel) to inform new proposal development.
Documentation & Growth
  • Document data sources, cleaning rules, and report logic (DAX formulas) to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer within the nascent BI function.

Qualification and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in management sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage effectively with professionals across industries.

Other necessary skills:
  • Strong Power BI and SQL proficiency.
  • Basic Python literacy (Pandas/NumPy) or a strong willingness to develop it immediately.
  • Expert-level Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data Cleaning).
  • Foundational knowledge of financial principles and willingness to learn project accounting.
  • The focus is on hands-on application and dashboard building, leveraging existing skills.

Compensation s Benefits:
Benefits: EOBI contributions as per Pakistan’s labor laws.
