Position Overview
AM Design Group is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to support a range of interior projects spanning hospitality, private club, and lifestyle environments. This role is well-suited for a motivated and detail-oriented design professional who thrives in a collaborative studio setting and is eager to contribute throughout all phases of a project—from initial concept through final installation.
Working closely with senior designers, the Junior Interior Designer will play a key role in design development, material and finish selections, preparation of drawings and documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external partners. This position is integral to ensuring cohesive design execution and the successful delivery of high-quality, thoughtfully designed spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of design concepts, space planning layouts, and cohesive finish palettes
- Prepare client presentations, including mood boards and visual materials, to clearly communicate design intent
- Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, fabrics, and accessories in alignment with project vision, timeline, and budget
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to facilitate accurate ordering and timely delivery of materials
- Participate in site visits to verify field conditions and assist during installations
- Contribute to the production of drawings, schedules, and project specifications
- Track materials, selections, and project progress to ensure organization and efficiency across all phases
- Collaborate with internal project teams to uphold design intent throughout documentation and construction
- Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to support innovative design solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field preferred
- 5 years of professional experience in hospitality, commercial, or related interior design environments preferred
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, and furnishings
- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and interior detailing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills
- Highly detail-oriented with a refined design sensibility
- Capable of working both independently with guidance and collaboratively within a team environment
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to produce renderings and presentation materials
- Understanding of documentation standards and drawing coordination
