Junior Node.js Developer

We are seeking a Junior Node.js Backend Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of server-side development using Node.js and is eager to learn, build scalable backend services, and work collaboratively with frontend and DevOps teams.

*Key Responsibilities*

Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js

Build and consume RESTful APIs

Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements

Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage data

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Debug and resolve backend issues and performance bottlenecks

Participate in code reviews and team discussions

Follow best practices for security, performance, and scalability

*Required Skills & Qualifications*

Basic to intermediate experience with Node.js

Good knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+)

Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS

Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods

Basic experience with databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)

Familiarity with Git and version control workflows

Understanding of asynchronous programming and promises

Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

Experience with authentication (JWT, OAuth)

Basic knowledge of TypeScript

Familiarity with ORMs/ODMs (Mongoose, Sequelize, Prisma)

Understanding of Docker or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Exposure to testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha)

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies

*Education & Experience*

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

0–2 years of backend development experience, internships, or personal projects
