Job Summary
The Junior Procurement Engineer supports the procurement and supply chain operations by sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with company standards and vendor management policies
Key Job Deliverable/ Accountabilities
Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on price, quality, service, And reliability. Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) in accordance with approved requisitions and
procurement policies. Coordinate with suppliers for material availability, delivery schedules, and shipment
follow-up. Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase reports. Work closely with the production and planning departments to forecast material
requirements. Support cost analysis, price comparison, and negotiations to achieve cost savings. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid material shortages or
excess. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and
ISO requirements. Prepare regular reports on purchase activities, cost performance, and delivery status. Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal reviews. Liaise with suppliers for product quality assurance, technical clarifications, and issue
resolution. Support vendor evaluation and performance monitoring based on delivery, quality, and
cost criteria.
Develop and maintain good relationships with existing and potential vendors. Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams for technical
specifications, approvals, and payments.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Support new project procurement requirements including machinery, tools, and Con -sumables.
Qualification & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (or related field).
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain within a manufacturing or engineering industry.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of manufacturing materials, equipment, and fabrication processes.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP).
Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Understanding of procurement procedures and cost control.
Team-oriented with a proactive and result-driven approach.
