Job Description

Purpose and Scope: Support the design and product development for the Bunny Williams Home (BWH) brand.

Founded in 2008 by legendary interior designer Bunny Williams, Bunny Williams Home is a complete line of home furnishings including furniture, lighting, art, and accessories. Based on-site in New York City, we are looking for a Junior Product Designer who thrives in a dynamic, creative work environment.

We are a small, tight-knit entrepreneurial team that thrives on collaboration, and are propelled by a shared passion for Bunny, our brand, the products and where we are going.

This role reports to the Director of Design and Product.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Research of references as well as finish and materials to help articulate concepts
• Creation of drawings (CAD, hand sketching) of product (furniture, lighting, accessories, and related) for design packages
• Creation of design packages containing dimension specifications, artwork, and concept references to be sent to vendors and makers
• Assist in design development and project communication with vendors, manufacturers, licensees, and the BWH team to ensure concepts are understood, key deadlines are met, and that each design is on-brand; management of project/product tracking documents
• Assist in keeping the archiving system for design packages, concepts, and finish library up to date
• Help define aesthetic direction through research, creation of inspiration boards, and sketching
• Travel as required to review product development
• Participate in weeknight evening Zoom calls with overseas vendors as needed (usually between 8pm and 10pm)
• Assist in preparation for internal presentations, installation of showroom, photography shoots, and related.
  
  

Job Requirements

Qualifications

College degree preferred.

• Industrial, Furniture, or relevant Design Degree preferred.
• 1-4 years experience in related profession preferred
• Fluent in Rhino 3D and/or AutoCAD, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and 2D drafting
• A passion for the decorative arts and history of furniture is essential
• Appreciation of classical design and references
• Must have sketching skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Self-starter that is resourceful and takes initiative
• Flexible and comfortable with shifting priorities
• Ability to develop ideas from initial concept through to finished production art
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects
