Junior Web Developers

Position: Junior Web Developer (2 Positions)
Location: Bahrain (Candidates must be based in Bahrain)
Experience: 1–3 years

Overview:
We are seeking two Junior Web Developers with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and WordPress (themes & plugins). The selected candidates will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of web platforms supporting both academic and administrative functions of the University.

Key Responsibilities:

Web Development

• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Backend: PHP, Node.js, Ruby, Python, Java, .NET (C#)

WordPress Development

• Build and maintain responsive WordPress websites
• Develop custom themes and ensure cross-browser/device compatibility

Plugin Development

• Create and customize plugins to enhance functionality
• Integrate third-party services and automate workflows

Full-Stack Development

• Implement user-friendly solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
• Ensure performance, security, and seamless frontend-backend integration

Scripting & General-Purpose Languages

• Python, Java, C++, C#, Bash, PowerShell

Database Management

• Design and optimize MySQL databases
• Improve data retrieval and storage efficiency

Web Performance Optimization

• Enhance load times, navigation, and SEO
• Apply caching, minification, and speed best practices

Security Implementation

• Apply security standards and perform regular updates
• Patch systems, plugins, and themes proactively

Team Collaboration

• Work with design and content teams to align UX and layout

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform updates, bug fixes, and ensure platform stability

API Integration

• Integrate third-party APIs and connect with internal system

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain clear documentation and submit performance reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 1–3 years of practical experience in web development
• Strong skills in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and WordPress
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and optionally React/Vue
• Basic knowledge of MySQL optimization
• Understanding of caching, SEO, and CDN usage
• Awareness of standard web security practices
• Experience with RESTful API integration
