As a Language Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school, you will play a crucial role in developing students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. You will nurture linguistic proficiency, creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness while fostering a love for language and literature through engaging and learner-centered teaching practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured language lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, literature, and oral communication appropriate to the grade level.
- Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW) skills through interactive and communicative teaching methods.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression through debates, discussions, role plays, storytelling, and creative writing activities.
- Integrate language skills with real-life contexts, cross-curricular themes, and experiential learning approaches.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through written work, oral assessments, projects, presentations, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Use technology, digital resources, language labs, and audio-visual aids to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide remedial instruction or enrichment activities.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, disciplined, and language-rich classroom environment.
- Encourage reading habits and appreciation of literature through libraries, reading programs, and literary activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary lessons, language events, and school initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and language development.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training programs, cultural programs, school events, and professional development activities.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, assessment patterns, and best practices in language teaching.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant language, Literature, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching certification recognized by CBSE.
- Proven experience teaching languages at the primary/middle/secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school (preferred).
- Strong understanding of CBSE language curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent command over the language (spoken and written) and strong pronunciation skills (where applicable).
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles and language proficiency levels.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in educational technology, digital platforms, and language-learning tools.
- Strong organizational, creative, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence.
