Key Holder - Bartender

Position Overview
The Key Holder is a trusted team member at The Phoenix Taproom & Kitchen, responsible for opening and closing the building and supporting smooth daily operations. This role combines bar support, occasional bartending, and direct guest interaction to help deliver an exceptional experience. Key Holders are expected to have strong product knowledge and a commitment to upholding our service standards. This is a 21+ position.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and/or close the building following all procedures
• Bar back during busy shifts by restocking, rotating kegs, cleaning, and supporting bartenders
• Fill in as bartender when shift coverage is needed
• Engage with guests through table touches and conversations at the bar to ensure a welcoming, informed experience
• Communicate menu knowledge confidently, including our rotating tap wall beverages, craft cocktails, and kitchen offerings
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the taproom, bar area, and shared spaces
• Assist with side work, trash removal, and overall team flow throughout service
• Relay shift notes or concerns to management in a timely and clear manner
• Follow all alcohol service, safety, and food handling protocols

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with prior bar and/or restaurant experience (2+ years required)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently during open/close
• Friendly and engaging with a natural ability to connect with guests
• Confident in learning and sharing knowledge about our tap wall, cocktail menu, and food offerings
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs, tap kegs, and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Nights and weekend availability required

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time role with the potential for full-time hours during spring, summer, and fall
• Evening and weekend availability is essential
• Hourly wage based on experience, plus tip pool

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
