Carl’s Building Supply is seeking an experienced Cabinet Designer to join our team. This position combines kitchen and bath design with consultative sales, helping customers, builders, and contractors create functional and beautiful spaces while selecting cabinetry and related products.

The ideal candidate is both creative and sales-driven, capable of guiding customers through the design process while developing accurate layouts, preparing proposals, and converting projects into completed sales.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• No weekends

Compensation

• $28.00 per hour for the first 6 months during onboarding and training
• After 6 months, compensation transitions to a lower hourly base wage plus a commission program
• Commission program offers significant earning potential based on sales performance

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers, builders, and contractors to understand project goals and develop design solutions
• Create accurate kitchen and bath layouts using 2020 Design
• Guide customers through cabinetry, countertop, and finish selections
• Prepare accurate quotes and proposals and actively convert designs into completed sales
• Assist with field measurements and verify site conditions
• Interpret architectural drawings and construction plans
• Enter and manage orders within internal systems
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly
• Manage multiple projects at various stages from design through order completion
• Maintain strong follow-up with customers to build relationships and generate repeat business

Qualifications

• 3+ years of kitchen cabinet design experience preferred
• Proficiency with 2020 Design (required)
• Experience with Yorktowne and Sollera cabinetry preferred
• Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, or other 3D design software a plus
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
• Ability to read construction drawings and spatial layouts
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Excellent communication and consultative sales skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of cabinetry materials, finishes, and hardware
• Portfolio of prior design work preferred
