1. Food Preparation
- Wash, peel, chop, and cut fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
- Assist cooks and chefs in preparing basic dishes, sauces, and garnishes.
- Portion and weigh ingredients as directed by the cook or chef.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, sandwiches, or desserts.
- Maintain knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
2. Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, counters, floors, and storage areas.
- Sanitize food preparation areas to meet health and safety standards.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
- Assist with cleaning walk-in coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
3. Stocking and Inventory
- Unpack and store food supplies and ingredients.
- Rotate stock and ensure proper labeling (FIFO – First In, First Out).
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to supervisors.
- Refill ingredients, condiments, and kitchen supplies as needed.
4. Equipment Handling
- Operate basic kitchen appliances safely (dishwasher, slicer, mixer, etc.).
- Ensure all kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the kitchen supervisor.
5. Team Support
- Assist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff during busy service times.
- Deliver prepared dishes to serving areas when required.
- Follow instructions quickly and efficiently to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude with the team.
