Job Title: Kitchen Staff (Cook / Commis / DCDP)

Place of Work: Laysen Valley, Umm Al Hamam, Riyadh

Monthly Salary: SAR 1,800++ to SAR 2,500++

++ FREE Duty Meal, Shared Accommodation and Transportation to and from work

Job Summary: To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. Junior kitchen staff support the smooth operation of the kitchen by ensuring consistency, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety and restaurant standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation

  • Assist in preparing ingredients (washing, cutting, measuring, portioning) according to recipes and chef’s directions.

2. Cooking & Production

  • Cook menu items under the supervision of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and portion sizes as per standard recipes.
  • Assist in creating daily specials, buffet items, or tasting menus if applicable.
  • Ensure food is cooked and stored safely, adhering to HACCP and restaurant hygiene standards.

3. Cleanliness & Hygiene

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
  • Follow cleaning schedules for utensils, kitchen equipment, and work surfaces.
  • Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of food items.
  • Comply strictly with food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.

4. Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and service staff during busy periods.
  • Assist colleagues and support other kitchen areas when required.
  • Attend daily briefings or pre-service meetings.

5. Inventory & Stock Control

  • Inform supervisors about low stock levels or shortages.
  • Handle ingredients and materials efficiently to reduce wastage.
  • Receive and store deliveries properly following FIFO (First In, First Out).

6. Training & Development

  • Participate in kitchen training programs for skill development.
  • Learn and adapt new recipes, techniques, and plating styles.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward learning and professional growth.
  • Prepare mise en place for assigned sections (sauces, vegetables, proteins, garnishes, etc.).
  • Follow precise recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency in taste and appearance.
  • Support the cooking and plating of dishes during service hours.

Basic Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary diploma or certification preferred.
  • 1–3 years of kitchen experience (depending on position level).

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of cooking methods and kitchen operations.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ﷼1,800.00 - ﷼2,500.00 per month
