  • Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, steamers, grills, chillers, freezers, dishwashers, exhaust systems, and other commercial appliances.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and service calls to ensure minimal disruption to kitchen operations.
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure proper electrical, gas, and plumbing connections as per safety standards.
  • Inspect equipment upon delivery and report defects or discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and fire regulations related to kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority requirements (e.g., municipality, fire safety).
  • Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and equipment history reports.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to understand maintenance needs and operational concerns.
  • Liaise with external service providers and suppliers for major repairs or parts replacement.
  • Provide basic training to kitchen staff on correct equipment usage and minor troubleshooting.
  • Maintain stock of critical spare parts and tools.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend replacements or upgrades when necessary.
  • Monitor utility consumption (gas, water, electricity) and suggest efficiency improvements.
