The Kitchen Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising kitchen technical operations, maintenance, and repair of catering equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient kitchen operations. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, team supervision, and strong experience in catering companies, commercial kitchens, or related food service environments
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage kitchen technicians and maintenance staff on a daily basis
- Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment including: Cooking ranges, ovens, grills, fryers ,Refrigeration and cold rooms ,Dishwashers and food preparation equipment Conduct
- preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment breakdown
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to avoid operational disruptions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards (HACCP, food safety, local regulations)
- Coordinate with catering operations, chefs, and management for technical support
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, service reports, and spare parts inventory
- Train kitchen technicians on equipment handling, safety procedures, and best practices
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers when required
- Monitor and control maintenance costs and spare parts usage
- Ensure emergency breakdowns are handled efficiently and promptly
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, or related field
Strong technical knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
Experience
- Minimum 5–6 years of total experience in kitchen equipment maintenance
- Experience must be within a catering company, hotel, restaurant, or large commercial kitchen
- Prior supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred
