Preparing Laboratory Equipment
- Set up and calibrate lab instruments and equipment before experiments or classes.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and safely stored.
2. Handling Chemicals and Specimens
- Label, prepare, and safely store chemicals or biological specimens.
- Assist with mixing solutions or culture media as per protocols.
3. Assisting in Experiments
- Support students, researchers, or scientists during practical sessions.
- Follow standard procedures to assist in experiments and data collection.
4. Inventory and Supplies Management
- Monitor stock levels of lab supplies (glassware, reagents, safety gear).
- Order or request new materials as needed.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean and sterilize lab equipment and workspaces after use.
- Dispose of waste materials following safety and environmental guidelines.
6. Ensuring Lab Safety
- Enforce lab safety rules (PPE, fire safety, chemical handling).
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
7. Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate logs of experiments, inventory, or equipment use.
- Label and file data properly for future reference.
8. Supporting Documentation & Reports
- Help prepare basic reports, charts, or presentations based on lab results.
- Enter data into lab management software or spreadsheets.
9. Collaborating with Staff
- Coordinate with faculty, lab managers, or researchers to ensure smooth lab operations.
- Train or guide new students or junior lab members when needed.
