Lab Coordinator
The Lab Coordinator oversees day-to-day operations of the laboratory across multiple clinics and home services. The role ensures accuracy, quality, compliance, staff management, and smooth coordination between lab teams, clinicians, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Operations & Quality
- Supervise sample collection, processing, testing, and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of lab results.
- Maintain quality control, calibration, and preventive maintenance of lab equipment.
- Implement NABL/ISO standards (where applicable).
- Lab Result Coordination
- Verify accuracy of lab reports before release.
- Coordinate with doctors and nurses for urgent/emergency reports.
- Ensure digital and printed reports are delivered to patients on time.
- Staff Duty Arrangement & Scheduling
- Prepare duty rosters for all lab staff across all clinics.
- Ensure proper coverage during morning/evening/night shifts.
- Manage backup planning for absenteeism or emergencies.
- Home Visit Lab Coordination
- Coordinate with phlebotomists for home sample collection.
- Ensure proper sample handling, transport, and reporting.
- Track home visit requests, turnaround time (TAT), and service quality.
- Staff Onboarding, Training & Assessment
- Conduct induction training for new lab staff (protocols, safety, reporting).
- Assess staff performance periodically through tests & practical evaluation.
- Arrange refresher training sessions for upskilling.
- Compliance & Safety
- Implement biomedical waste management protocols.
- Ensure proper documentation, registers, and reporting for audits.
- Maintain safety standards for staff and patients.
- Inventory & Administration
- Track usage of reagents, kits, and consumables across clinics.
- Prevent overstocking and ensure timely replenishment.
- Maintain expiry tracking and proper disposal of unusable stock.
- Reporting & Management Communication
- Generate weekly/monthly reports on lab operations, staff performance, patient volumes, and quality compliance.
- Escalate issues (equipment failure, staff shortage, errors) to management.
- Provide inputs for HR appraisals of lab staff.
Required Skills
- Technical: Strong lab knowledge (hematology, biochemistry, microbiology).
- Coordination: Multi-clinic staff duty planning, home service scheduling.
- Training: Onboarding & skill assessment.
- Compliance: Biomedical waste, quality protocols, reporting accuracy.
- IT Skills: Excel, MS Office.
- Soft Skills: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, patient handling.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
- 3–5 years’ clinical lab experience (multi-clinic preferred).
- Prior supervisory or coordinator experience is an advantage.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
