Position Summary
A lab instructor in Cyber Security is sought to support students and faculty of the Computer Information Science division. The candidate will lead lab sessions and provide hands-on instruction in all areas of cybersecurity and mentor students through assignments or projects. The candidate will foster a positive and collaborative learning environment that ignites a passion for learning with students.
Skills And Experience

Preference is given to candidates with at least 3 years of industry experience in a cybersecurity company / setting, with a solid understanding of security protocols, cyber threats, and defense mechanisms. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in various cybersecurity tools and software.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organisation

Previous teaching or instructional experience in a lab setting is advantageous.
Duties And Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on instruction in cybersecurity practices, including but not limited to ethical hacking, network security, digital forensics, cloud security, and incident response. Focusing on student’s practical application and skill development.

May contribute to the design, development, and update of lab exercises, assignments, and projects in line with current cybersecurity trends and technologies.

Maintain and update lab hardware and software to ensure a productive learning environment that mirrors current industry standards.

Implement and oversee safety and security protocols in the lab, ensuring a secure and ethical learning environment.

Manage the scheduling of lab sessions to optimize resources and student learning outcomes.

Provide one-on-one assistance to students during lab sessions, offering guidance and feedback to facilitate learning.

Assess student performance through practical tests, lab assignments, and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.

Stay abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity, including emerging threats, technologies, and best practices.

Collaborate with faculty members to ensure curriculum relevance and to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Academic Qualification

MSc degree or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are highly desirable.
