JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to assist in technical work of research laboratory or project. Performs routine, standard, and least complex technical laboratory duties.

Duties will include:
Preparing mixture/cooking fly media in steam kettle to produce quality product for core users.
Filling vials/bottles with fly media for distribution to users to ensure quality standards and correct portions are met.
Processing supply orders for fly core supplies on computer using campus eProcurement system according to institutional requisition policies.
Organizing/stocking/inventorying/maintaining fly core required supplies.
Following up on supply orders/invoices/receipt discrepancies.

JOB DUTIES
Prepares laboratory specimens.
Assembles and operates standard laboratory equipment.
Collects and records data which may involve arithmetic computations.
Prepares standard reagents and culture media.
Examines experimentally infected laboratory animals to detect and record symptoms associated with variety of animal diseases.
Weighs, positions, and performs pre-operative shaving of animals.
Takes vital signs of animals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
