Lab Technician - Male

Duties and Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures as per hospital and national standards.
• Collect blood samples from patients of all age groups safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Ensure correct patient identification before sample collection.
• Label samples properly and ensure timely transport to the laboratory.
• Follow standard precautions and infection control practices during sample collection.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area.
• Handle patients with care, professionalism, and empathy during procedures.
• Support laboratory staff by ensuring high-quality sample collection to avoid re-sampling.

Documentation & Reporting

• Accurately maintain sample collection records and registers.
• Ensure proper entry of patient details and test requisitions.
• Coordinate with laboratory staff for sample receipt and processing.
• Follow hospital policies related to documentation and billing procedures.

Quality & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with safety guidelines, biomedical waste management, and infection control protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to sample collection.
• Ensure minimal sample rejection through proper technique and handling.

Patient Care & Communication

• Reassure patients and explain procedures clearly before sample collection.
• Handle difficult or anxious patients calmly and professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and test details.
• Communicate any issues during sample collection to the supervisor immediately.

Teamwork & Additional Duties

• Work collaboratively with laboratory technicians, nurses, and clinicians.
• Share duties, shifts, and emergency sample collections as required.
• Assist senior staff during high workload periods.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Lab In-Charge or Management.

Education - Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
