Job Summary:
The Labeling and Printing Technician is responsible for accurately applying labels to buckets, pails, and other containers used in the paint manufacturing process. This role ensures all products are labeled correctly according to company specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer orders. The position also serves as a backup to the Print Shop Manager by printing product labels and assisting with print shop operations when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Labeling
· Apply labels to buckets, pails, and other paint containers according to production schedules and order specifications.
· Verify label accuracy including product name, batch number, hazard information, and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure labels are properly aligned, legible, and securely applied.
· Inspect containers prior to labeling for cleanliness and defects.
· Maintain labeling equipment and ensure proper operation.
Print Shop Support
· Print product labels, hazard labels, and shipping labels as needed.
· Operate label printing equipment and software according to company procedures.
· Maintain inventory of label materials including paper, ink, and adhesives.
· Assist the Print Shop Manager with organizing print jobs and prioritizing orders.
· Serve as backup for the Print Shop Manager during absences or high workload periods.
Quality and Compliance
· Follow all company safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
· Ensure labeling complies with regulatory standards such as hazard communication and chemical labeling requirements.
· Report labeling errors, equipment issues, or material shortages immediately.
General Duties
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Assist with packaging and production support tasks as needed.
· Communicate with production and warehouse teams to ensure labeling accuracy and efficiency.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
o Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
o Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
o Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment.
o Basic computer skills, including familiarity Microsoft Office Suite.
o Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
o Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 60 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, or labeling operations.
o Experience operating printing software, label printing equipment and industrial printers.
o Knowledge of chemical or hazardous material labeling requirements.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
