#LI-AS1d:Position Summary:
The Labor Management Specialist ensures the accuracy and integrity of agency staffing hours, timecard records, and premium labor reporting across the organization. This role serves as a key resource for monitoring agency utilization, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting labor cost control initiatives while partnering with field leadership to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:

- Audit agency timecards and invoices; reconcile discrepancies in partnership with center leadership
- Monitor agency staffing hours, overtime usage, and premium labor trends to identify risks
- Coordinate agency scheduling support and troubleshoot system entries (e.g., Smartlinx)
- Provide recurring reports highlighting agency utilization trends and labor metrics
- Communicate discrepancies, corrections, and follow-up actions with field leadership
- Support workforce analytics and labor reporting processes
- Assist with policy adherence and provide guidance on agency timekeeping practices
- Maintain accurate and timely reconciliation of agency hours across all centers
- Support premium labor audits, including invoice validation and budgeted labor tracking (PPD,OT)
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory expectations related to labor management.

HIPAA:- Follows and adheres to North Shore Health’s policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information
- Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks
- Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to North Shore Health Chief Compliance Officer.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary role with extended periods of sitting (approximately 80%) with occasional walking or movement (approximately 10%) and limited driving (approximately 10%) for site visits as
needed.
Required Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Analytics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with workforce management or scheduling systems (Smartlinx or similar preferred)
- Experience auditing timecards, payroll, or labor data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with field leadership regarding discrepancies and resolutions.
