Position Title: Labor Relations Representative – Mountain West Division
Location: Centennial, CO (Office Based)
Reports To: Labor Relations Director
Purpose:
Support the Labor Relations team in maintaining effective relationships with labor organizations representing Company associates. Assist in the administration of labor agreements, grievance handling, and compliance with employment laws. This role is designed to provide foundational experience in labor relations, with opportunities to grow into more senior roles over time.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist in advising Division HR and management on policy interpretation and disciplinary actions for hourly associates.
- Support grievance and arbitration processes by coordinating meetings, gathering documentation, and preparing summaries.
- Respond to routine employee complaints and inquiries within the scope of company policy and union contracts.
- Participate in ADA accommodation processes and leave of absence reviews under guidance from HR and Labor Relations leadership.
- Collaborate with Asset Protection and HR on investigations, helping compile reports and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of associate relations activities.
- Prepare initial drafts of reports, memos, and research for contract negotiations and union communications.
- Assist in tracking and preparing data for wage and benefit payments.
- Support union avoidance efforts through research and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., payroll, benefits, compensation) to resolve labor-related issues.
- Provide administrative support for hearings, arbitrations, and legal proceedings, including witness coordination and document preparation.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education Level:
- College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Coursework or certification in Human Resources or Labor Relations is a plus.
Experience Level:
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- Exposure to union environments or labor contract administration is beneficial.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Basic understanding of employment law and labor relations principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional travel within the Division to support grievance meetings, hearings, and site visits.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily office-based with standard equipment use.
- May require travel to retail locations and attendance at off-site meetings or hearings.
- Must have reliable transportation and be available for occasional overnight travel.
The salary for this position ranges from $61,000 to $91,000; Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, and other qualifications. Dependent on length of service, benefits include healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
